Week Ten- Jim Walsh

This is the Interstate Highway system that was implemented under President Eisenhower. The highway system was set up to allow quick and efficient mobility of troops and equipment across the country (all of the highways are wide enough for tanks to travel on). This grid system works because it effectively connects all parts of the country. Both latitudinal and longitudinal mobility is extremely capable . Not only is this an effective military strategy, but it makes vehicular transportation much more simplistic overall.

  1. This was such a great and unique example of a grid system. I think it's an excellent way to view the importance of grids since such precision must be made when designing highways. Creative choice!

  2. Jim,
This was a great find as an example of a grid. The interstate system can be very confusing just by concept and whoever designed did a great job in alleviating the issue. This is a perfect example of the use of grids. Nice!
