Markland/Week 10

This two-page spread effectively utilizes Lupton's grid technique. Not only are the columns on the pages neatly organized because of grid space, but the picture in the lower left corner is appealing where it has been placed and the article title, "Septic Death" is extremely effective. By using grid lines, the sizes of each letter in the title have been altered in a way that looks interesting yet consistent. Also, the layout has a pleasing amount of white space that reflects the size of the title's text. Without the use of grid lines, accurately placing this text and pictures would be extremely difficult, and possibly very sloppy.

  1. I agree. There is a lot of content on this page therefore you can really tell they utilize the grid technique. If they had just thrown all the content on to the spread it would be very confusing and hard to read. From the link that you posted you can tell where the grids were, and how the site used them to organize their page.
