The logo of the National Basketball Association (NBA) is one that uses the gestalt principle of closure extremely well. The logo is blue on the left side and red on the right side. However, to complete the American colors (red, white, and blue), the logo employs a white structure. This structure, the not explicitly so, is the silhouette of a basketball player dribbling a basketball. This uses the gestalt principle of closure because even though the basketball figure is not closed or outlined, the eye automatically connects the shape and representation of a basketball player.
