My visual message was to convey a sense of simplicity and originality. I thought my design, while quite simple to the eye, was also easy to understand and clean. Since my last name is visual, I knew from the start that I was going to incorporate something related to it. In the end, this is what I came up with.
My audience was really anyone so I definitely took into account that I needed something easy to understand, as mentioned previously. I chose a typeface that wasn't rigid or very generic looking but rather, had a more relaxed feel to it. I also chose it because the contrast of light and bold type was very strong. In the end, I didn't incorporate any color because I couldn't find anywhere where I thought it was necessary. This was why I chose to buy a ivory colored stationery paper with small specks of black and grey, giving the paper a rocky, almost marble-like quality in an effort to reinforce the stone theme. The only other thing that may not be easy to see from this picture is that my bullet points are the rock in my name. I thought this gave the design a little consistency and definitely reinforced the stone theme once again.
I absolutely love your choice of font. I agree that it contrasts nicely to emphasize the word "Black" and the stone design in your name. I think this stationary would absolutely stand out among a pile of others...good job!

I love your font and the simple idea of the black stone. You have a very visual name and you used that well in your logo design. I love that you used grey and then emphasized on the black. Overall it is very eye catching and clever.
