Being a fan of the content of the show, I never quite payed attention to the actual type, as I was wrapped up in the plot of the upcoming episode. Taking a good look a the type, I realized that the p in gossip, although a descender, falls way below the baseline. The actual type of gossip girl seems to be appropriate because gossip girl is based on a series of text messages, but the extended drop of the "p" does not make sense in this case. I feel as though it takes away from the word gossip and does not give any extra meaning to the word. I think that it would be more appropriate to reduce the descender length of the "p" or extend the other descender letters (the "g") to match the "p." This would provide more fluidity throughout the logotype.
