I came accross this ad in People magazine. The colors all flow together well. How they used half the flower and then had the lipsticks that were in the same shape as well as the same color was very smart. They also used the same colors in the type which also helps bring everything together. This ad overall uses color well for gestalt.

I agree. The colors in the text go perfectly with the flower and the lipstick colors. The overall soft color scheme allows the reader to connect the words to the product. It is a well designed poster. The only thing I dislike about it, is that it is somewhat busy at the bottom with the lipsticks, flower and the Maybelline text. Overall good example
ReplyDeleteI completely agree as well. The colors compliment the idea that the designers of the ad wanted to portray. The scheme of brown color definitely goes well with the makeup and whatever else Maybelline does. I do think that sometimes the text near the model's nose could get lost but it is still a good concept.
