Just going to the MySlice website and looking at the MySlice "logo" in the top left corner, I noticed how although MySlice is supposed to be one word and is throughout the webpage, the logo is spaced so it looks like two words. Also, the typeface has serifs and has strong vertical lines, which I feel isn't well suited for the name because since we are the "Orange" and the name MySlice is related to oranges, I feel a more rounded typeface using geometric shapes, esp. the circle would be a better choice.
Another example of badly used type I encountered was in a book of mine title "Leaderless Jihad." The title features Leaderless in a typeface with a high x-height, positioned on top of Jihad, in the same typeface but in a larger point. The 'L' in Leaderless is kerned poorly so that it looks much further away from the 'E' than do the other letters in relation to each other. Also, I didn't agree with the choice of having the same typeface for both words. The typeface employed was sans-serif, bold, and Gotham-like but lacked any effect. It made the title look very boring and unappealing and that can lead the casual observer to assume the book is as well.
